Definition Of Catenet:

Aggregate of several networks (such as Internet) in which several hosts are connected through different platforms, the networks are inter-connected through gateways and act like one logical network.
The term was coined by the French scientist Louis Pouzin in his 1974 paper 'A Proposal for Interconnecting Packet Switching Networks,' and is probably derived from Latin 'catena,' chain.
