Definition Of Coaxial Cable (coax):

Heavy-duty, high speed data transmission cable used in computer networks, cable TV, etc.
It consist of a copper core encased in plastic which in turn is surrounded by a braided copper shield, and the whole thing is covered with plastic insulation. Coax provides largely interference-free medium for both baseband and broadband communications.
