Clipper Chip
Definition Of Clipper Chip:
Stealth' chip designed by the US government and proposed by it to be installed in all data communication devices as a national security measure.
How this chip works is not revealed, but it is known to have a 'trap door' that allows government agencies to eavesdrop on any electronic communication. Although approved by the Clinton administration in 1994, its application has so far been frustrated by the widespread opposition from privacy rights advocates.
